Partners

Since its founding in 2002 GovLeaders.org has collaborated with several groups that are committed to enhancing the leadership effectiveness of public sector managers.  We have all benefited from sharing ideas, insights and inspiration.

Ray Blunt

Ray Blunt is currently the Associate Director and Fellow at the Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture. He has served as a leadership consultant and teacher for the Council for Excellence in Government and the Federal Executive Institute as well as for several government and non-profit organizations. He spent 35 years in public service in the US Air Force and the US Department of Veterans Affairs. He is B.J.'s husband of 43 years and the father of two grown children, and grandfather of five aspiring servant leaders.  In 2003 Ray authored the highly influential report Growing Leaders for Public Service for the IBM Center for the Business of Government.  Since 2005 he has written a series of columns for GovLeaders.org on Growing Public Service Leaders.

13L

13L is a group of mid-career federal employees who are passionate about the practice of leadership. The purpose of the group is to promote effective leadership in the federal government, advance meaningful discussion and inquiry of federal leadership issues, and support fellow members in their professional growth and career development.  13L members conceptualized such innovative programs as Flash Mentoring and FedPitch and collaborated with other good government groups to implement them.

The Public Sector Consortium

The Public Sector Consortium is a multi-service non-profit committed to growing the practice of leadership through adult action-oriented learning opportunities to assure that leaders create and sustain high performance in public sector organizations. The Public Sector Consortium’s Formal Learning Programs are only one part of a system of learning which includes a Community of Practice, On-Site Consulting, Coaching Services and ongoing Research Projects. The Public Sector Consortium is committed to quality leadership learning opportunities while insuring financial feasibility for public sector leaders. They serve all levels of the public sector federal, state, local and public education. Access at state and local levels to quality leadership training is often more difficult given strict budget restraints. The consortium's goal is to close this gap through grants, donations and revenue from current programs.
